Had the same problem on my 91 744. I don't know if your model has an oil seperator or not. If so remove the flame trap and pour some motor flush down the hose that leads to the seperator. That should flush it out. If it does not, try pouring some brake/parts cleaner down the tube. (I used the spray type so I could get it into the hose easier.) The parts cleaner is what did the trick for me. I did this with the engine running. Changed the oil and filter, and was on my way. I got the info from this board in the archives.
