The wife stuffed the '90 740 Turbo wagon into the back of a pickup that did a false start at the intersection, so I need a RF fender, hood, signal, and headlight "frame". Geico wrote a check for 3500 but a retired bodyman down the street suggests more like 5000 to get it done right. He knows the estimator, used to be a partner with the boss of the estimator's shop, and pointed out some omissions in the written estimate. He also suggested "you can make good money at a body shop". At those prices all I can think to myself is "no shit, brother".
As I'm new to the world of bricks (my cars are '73, '74, '75 bimmers) where are the good sources for parts? Note that here in Honolulu, the local resources are limited. Yes, I'll look at the few salvage yards, but sooner or later I will have to find a way to avoid going to the dealer.
We get the ipd catalog, and will check RPR and fcpgroton.
