Hello,

Sounds like the life of the heater fan on your brick may soon be coming to a normal but painful death. Equally as painful will be the replacement if and when it does die. There is no simple way to inspect and/or lubricate the unit as it is buried deep in the dash. One may try a good old tap on the side of the heater unit when it does make noise. To get access, remove both dash side trims and the heater unit is the big black thingy there.
