what function do the hood/windshield vents have? 200 1989

those vents are for drawing fresh air from the outside into your passenger cabin. covering them is not a good idea because for one, you'll have a lack of oxygen in your cabin. for another thing, when you turn on the fan, it'll have nowhere to pull air in from thus stressing the motor and causing it to die prematurely.

definitely want to unclog them.
