Positive clock report 200 1987

Doug, I can report the same blessing regarding the rectangular clock on my 79. I suppose yours is the same model and I have no idea how the technology differs from that of the round 240 clocks because I have not heard of one croaking! It does certainly have a different tick-- more of a chhk, chhk, chhk sound.

The longevity of the capacitors used in the round clocks, I suspect, is related to the seal and venting construction of the particular capacitor make. The scary or fortunate (depending on your willingness to DIY repair) part is you find the same manufacturer's capacitors throughout the Bosch electronics, from ECU to fuel pump relays. Can't say, though, I've found any non-clock problems with dried out electrolytics.
