In my opinion it will look dumb and people will make fun of you. That's just my opinion though.

If you want you can do what I did to my 94 945 Turbo. I pulled off the rear muffler and that made the car louder. Coulden't feel an improvement in power though.

If you pull the rear muffler off you will just have the axle pipe ending as it goes over the axle, you can then clamp a section of exhaust pipe on there so it will exit at the bumper then put an exhaust tip on there if you'd like.

I have a video of one of a guys 244t idling with a magnaflow exhaust, it sounds soo good. I'd like to do that to my wagon soon.
