Hot start problems 200 1985

1985 245 dl I have been having hot start problems. Engine starts fine when cold
but after it warms and you shut it off and it has a hard time starting. I believe the engine is flooding(I can smell gas). Some persistant cranking and it will start but will run rough at first and then run fine. This sems to have gotten worse as the temprature here in NW Indiana has dropped.
