Finally got the sucker started, now a head gasket leak!

The head work should cost about $250 or so. Have it done right; new valve absorbers, valve adjustment (if necessary) and cleaned up/straightened. You could drop a new engine into the car but I wouldn't really bother unless you suspect some serious engine damage as a result of the overheating. Which I kind of doubt. But the head work would be necessary.
