Brake booster check valve replacement?

Is this the brake booster check valve? If it is, is there anything I need to know about replacing it? Haynes has no good information about it. Do I just pull it out or is it held in someway? What about the grommet is that easy to replace as well? Finally, does the hose to the intake see any oil or other fluid, ie can I replace the hose with silicone?
