Electrical Problems 200 1983

While you are changing the belts, take a look at the wires to the back of the alternator. The red wire usually corrodes and prevents proper electon flow. If you have a volt meter, check the voltage at the battery with the engine running and no loads (lights, blower, etc..). It should be about 13.5 to 14 volts. If not, check the brushes in the alternator (they're probably the culprets)
