$5500 seems like a lot to me.... especailly considering thaat a perfect 544 is only worth perhaps $5,000....maybe 7500 if its perfect. Of course, more if its properly modifiedd. Maybe.

Not knowing what you are building here....I can't say if its worth it, but...the price seems high. Granted, he may may well be honest in his estimate, and he is quoting you an honest price for what it will take to make your particular car perfect... If that's the case, you might be startign with the wrong car.

If I were you, I'd find out what all he plans to do. I ain't saying he's out of line.... body work ain't cheap. But... have him go over the estimate with you...
