B30F with carbs running a wee bit lean 140-160


What I am 100% certain of is that much weaker springs made
the car run *very* lean and that stiffer springs made the car
stop running as lean. Of course, now that I've adjusted the
valves the car is also running far better.

My high school physics is actually getting foggy and I couldn't
find any decent descriptions of spring physics that refer to
free length as a function of stiffness, so it seems that I may
be wrong about that; still cutting a couple of coils off of the
spring would make it stiffer and thus richer.

The springs are every bit as important as the needles in
these carbs. I suspect that the little dashpot cap thingy is
also important since it can affect how quickly the piston rises.
