Radio wires 700

On my 88 740GLE, which just got an Alpine in-dash CD last month, all the power and remote turn-on wires were in a white 9-pin plug that was external to the radio box, roughly behind the ignition key. The speaker wires were all in a black cable with a round DIN plug that went to a remote amplifier under the dashboard.
It is mounted just to the left of the steering column. Some of the wiring from the radio plug goes to it as well. On mine, the green wires were the hot leads- the one to the amp had a separate inline fuse on it. The front speakers were connected back from the amp into the main wiring harness connector. The amp has a short piece of wiring harness with two connectors that plugs into both the stereo plug and the car wiring plug. Then there's a second plug with just the wires for the rear speakers in it. If your car had the economy stereo with only 2 speakers, you may not have the amp at all, but I believe you will find that it has one.
If anyone wants a great working CR612 and 20W X 4 amp, let me know. They're free!
