Running without flame trap - n/a engine ........ 200 1993

should seldom if ever be done.

If yours is blocked, and you cannot get it cleaned, then taking the risk for a very short exposure time will probably work.

The risk is that IF there is a backfire through the intake manifold AND that flame ignites the oily vapors from the crankcase, the flame front MIGHT move into the crankcase - the Mother Lode of oily vapors, and kaboom may result.
