I'm with your other respondants here: I don't think anyone thinks you're a jerk... keep at it with the questions, and good responses to other peoples' questions.
One thing that might help elicit more responses is to put some line breaks in your posts, which would make your posts more readable. I check out the Brickboard just about every day at work, and almost always have to answer the phone or have some other distraction when I'm reading. It's just harder to refocus on a big block of text after an interruption.
Breaking up your posts into smaller chunks might also help get suggestions on different elements of a complex problem. Very often people here don't have the whole answer to the whole question, but if they can isolate a bit they know about, they can tell you about that one bit.... and those little bits can be very helpful.
