A common problem that will cause your symptom is a disintegrated electrical connector at the distributor. They crack and fall apart leaving nothing to support the terminals inside. They could touch each other or chassis ground briefly during fun driving like that and cause your problem. Other possible causes could be any loose connector or a poorly secured battery with marginal cables, among others.
