Dan,

Since your experience with this vintage block has been good, why not go for it.? Just make sure the coolant is Volvo coolant and keep an eye on the pH of the cooling system to make sure acids aren't formed, then the block should be o.k.

Not all these blocks had the problem. Actually a very small percentage were affected so the odds are good that this one will be good too.
