I got a friend who did a similar type manouver with his XK120 jaguar... First, he suspended the car's body from the rafters, then backed a flatbed trailer under there to set it on. then rolled the rest of the car back under the rafters and yanked the (~600#) engine/transmission assembly the same way.

Suffice to say, after seeing the pictures, I reminded him that it was a crazy thing to do...

But, whatever works. Just be careful!
