Should I get my tail-gated 240 repaired?

You should absolutely get it checked.

There is an intaresting thing about RWD Volvos. Open both the rear doors at the same time and make sure that the rear quarters don't kink when you do. The body structure can retain a lot of compressive force.

There is the very real possibility of frame damage to the rear of the car. It would be worth at least having a good frame shop look at it.

There is also the very real possibility that it will need little, if any, restoration work outside cosmetic.
