Rav,
The oil filler cap has a replaceable rubber seal that runs about 65 cents from fcpgroton.com The cap seals often harded and dry out causing some oil to leak from the around the cap. Is it really the head gasket that is leaking oil or could it be the cam cover gasket? These often need renewal and they are quite easy to replace. Hope that's the case. You should check your crank case ventilation plumbing and flame trap to make sure they are not clogged. Clogged PCV stuff will cause pressure to buildup in the engine and will often cause oil leaks. You would be wise to invest in a Bentley (prefered) or Haynes (my second choice) 240 manual. Don't waste your money of Chilton's books. A good manual will pay for it's self with the first serious repair. Good Luck and Happy Bricking.
