Hello,

I would be extremely wary of ANY kind of engine cleaning on that age of brick.

1) Steam cleaning does absolutely nothing for the functionality and reliability of the car.

2) 240's from that era had wiring harneses that dried up and cracked unless the car was oil sprayed religiously every year.

My general advice, DON'T DO IT. I mean you can clean off the valve cover and shine up the white Volvo lettering, but anything below that, wouldn't touch a thing unless I had to.
