I have a problem with the ACC in my '87 760. No air to the face, no cooling. Heat works fine. (well there is a longer than usual delay for the fan to start but it is not that big of a deal since we don't get real cold around here)
I installed a new heater valve, (PO had removed it and plumbed it straight) but I had never seen it close. So I pulled the dash. By pulling the hose going to the main vacuum motor in the programmer, I am able to get very cold air coming from the face vents, which I desparately need since we are headed into spring and summer, and the heater valve is fully closed.
I don't really feel like fault tracing or spending a great deal on the car since she is sort of a beater and I only paid $1600 in the first place. So I am thinking of plumbing some sort of valve (similar to the inline valve on a blood pressure cuff) so I can send vacuum to the ACC motor when I need heat.
What ya'll think? Will it work?
