Overdrive issues: Update

"Yes, the fluid is what makes it quiet. "

Ah, that makes sense. Both of my solenoids click, so you suggest they just need rebuilding then?

"Other than the coil windings burning out, the only way these fail is by letting fluid past the O-rings. "

Cool, rare that coil windings burn out?

"Refurbished by replacing the O-rings is the only repair doable. "

HOw many o-rings are there and how long would it take to get them and refurb the solenoid approxiamtely?

the iPd tool, at least the one I have is no good. looks like at least 1/8" too big and just strips the hex head on the solenoid, bought crows foot today to modify.

would it do any damage to drive the car, without engaging OD? no chance of overdrive engaging itself if I dont correct? I would assume not as it needs the electrical part to engage it.

thanks as always, much appreciated!
take care

Luke
