muffler bracket ? 700

Just purchased the Starla kit from FCP and installed it. Went together easy. Only problem I seemed to incounter was the front muffler bracket. When compared to the old bracket the hooks on the new bracket were closer together. This seemed to make it impossible to attach the rubber hangers completely. I contacted FCP about the problem and they said they never had a problem with the bracket. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible to make this different bracket work? I would like to use the new bracket. Also removed the Starla sticker and found the mufflers were made by Walker. I thought Walker was an American company and Starla a Swedish company. Does anyone know the story?
Car is very quiet now.
