OD not working 700 1992

I have 86 740 Turbo and had similar problem.
Pulled out relay,cleaned pins, pulled off cover which I drilled with holes to reduce internal heat buildup and used soldering iron (no flux) to reheat all major soldered joints (to reseal joints with minute cracks). Did that last year & no problems since.
PS got all the above hints from FAQ.
