You might check OEM and see if they have an H.D. Shock option available. I replaced our 95 964's rear shocks with OEM after 110,000 miles. They still seemed fine, albeit a little leakage on one side. They held the car level even with plenty of weight in the trunk.

(Make sure most of your weight is behind the back seat and over the axle.)
