oil filter

Oil Filters. Use one with an anti-drain-back valve, at minimum. The AutoZone level Fram doesn't have one. The Fram Tuf-Guard does. The OEM for Volvo is Mann, and there are usually one or two eBay auctions open for a case of 10. It'll run you about $50 including shipping. Check with Nick at www.fcpgroton.com for details.

Word on the BBRD is that Chilton manuals are one step away from the parrot cage. Haynes. OR call 1-800-25-VOLVO or visit www.volvocars.com/lit and get the Volvo "Green" Service Manuals.

Haynes and other shop manuals have one book for everything and every year. Volvo "green" does not. Separate book for various sections of the car. A complete set is a high price. Seldom will a private owner need a set. Order an Owner's Manual, a Specifications Manual, and the Wiring Diagram Manual. Maybe the engine manual, but be careful there may be several engine books.

Good Luck,

Bob
