Aha! that makes sense... 120-130 1965

this was supposed to be a 'fast' motor, so maybe he thought he could get more top end out of it. I checked the key, and it's normal, not offset.
Since I'm just using it as a street motor, I retimed it, and we'll see from there. I DO remember that it wasn't very torquey, but started to pull at high revs... (I drove the rusty 142 it was in about 100 miles before I fell thru the floor and parked it)
I also checked the rest of the motor, and everything looks and measures fine- everything is towards the 'loose' end of the scale, but that too makes sense for a motor the p/o was thinking about racing.
