ABS and Speedometer dead? 700 1989

I think the 89 is the same as the 90 in that the ABS and the speedometer both use the sensor in the rear end for their signal. Somehow you are no longer sensing the revolution of the gears in the rearend and no signal to the speedometer and ABS. Broken wire? Sensor punked out?
