AC question, could be long but i will keep it short. 200 1988

I guess the most important thing is the cabin temperature.

The high side can be 2.5x ambient temp without going too high. You might be able to go even higher than that.

You could just buy a new evaporator without the rest of the kit (since you've replaced everything else.) I have a feeling that could have a lot to do with it, in the pre 91 models. While it probably isn't plugged, it isn't the right kind to use with the R134a system.
