The up word is that the 940 is quieter, quicker, and luxurious.

On the down side - owners report that the 940 has several nigglies that drive them bonkers.

Go to the top of the page and select the 900 forum. read some of the owners FAQ's and that will help you decide.

I agree that the 940 is a great looking ride.

It is a continuation of the 200/700/series. After the 900 series they changed the moniker to the x70 then x90 series.

the drivetrain is mostly the same, except for suspension (nivomat shock system) and a host of electronic wizardry. (why cannot the euros get american reliability on electrical circuitry??)

The 940 series has the 4 cyl engine. Stay away from the 960 - the infamous v-6 that is a bane of Volvos everywhere.

I have been driving 240's for 15 years and while I would like to move up - I know these bricks very well, and what woulds I do with the 2 parts cars I have out back??
