Hahahaha... I published that exact info about five years ago, and Topi (remember Topi?) climbed all over me for it, followed by several other builders. Consensus was that was true years ago, but modern bronze alloys are much improved and are better than iron in any application.

I really don't know which is right, myself -- I'm using afermarket valves with the bronze guides.
