Yes, I'd rather spend $50 and have my mechanic look it over, but if the owner won't let me take it to the mechanic so I don't think it's possible. However, I will put the car on four stands and check everywhere for shiny oil, worn out bushings, try turning the wheels various directions, etc. I think the most important thing will be that the owner has service records. I hope not to find anything that gives me second thoughts.
