We had an '88 745 GLE and a '90 745 GL at the same time.

The '88 got about 3-4 MPG better than the '90.

The '90 was definately peppier than the '88 and I noted that it revved higher in each gear.

I was once told by a technician that the '88 had a "240 engine", also the '90 had a Regina ignition system.

More power = less mileage?
