No power under load, bad FPR? 700 1987

I'm fairly certain that if you disconnected the AMM and it made NO difference at all, then your AMM is bad. Because otherwise, then the AMM would be doing something... and pulling it out would make things worse since it was working before you pulled it out.

As for the PVC thing, you need the PVC system. Not having one would likely lead to more leaks and problems.
