First off, congrats on your buy. I'm new here too and my '89 744 turbo is the best buy I've ever made. Anyways, you might want to check your kickdown cable. Does it down shift when you were trying to make that pass? The tach should jump up about 1000 rpm's when try a move like that. I'm no expert on these cars, but at first glance that's what I would think. Maybe someone else would know...
