Last winter I installed a pair of Wallmart "Wintertrac" snow tires. THey have a "Mud & Snow" rating on the sidewall.
It is june and I am still rumming them. I was going to install summer tires, but we live in a rural area and my wife commutes 15 miles round trip each day.
On these gravel back roads, and muddy conditions when it rains, these tires work well.
They have deep treads, and plenty of siping (little slits in the treads) that help them grip as well as run cooler.
I think I paid something like $200 for the set of 4, installed and balanced.
These tires have outperformed much more expensive tires that I have tried in the past.
You may want to go up one size to a 195/75R14 instead of the factory 185/75R14.
I am running 205/75R14 and wish I had put on 215/75R14's. Just a bit larger tire .
The only trouble you may have is locating a set before September. Walmart is built on JIT (just in time) inventory flow. So I do not thinkthe tires will arrive until fall.
