waitwaitwait... The number's near the battery box?!? Is this true for the early Jensen models? I have a 1962 and the plate had been (apparently) washed clean by spilled brake fluid or something. Luckily, somebody had the good inclination to stamp the numbers back on before they were completely erased... but if they were supposed to be raised in the first place (what's that called... Bas Relief?), why was mine hand stamped? Was that how they did it back then? Some English dude with a hammer? No. Couldn't be. It's confusing though... the numbers seem to be all wrong. The car is blood red with a black interior but the codes say it's white with a red interior, and the VIN, or first number on the plate is simply 652. Where's this magical VIN number again?
confused owner of what is hopefully a 1962 P1800,
