I agree with darmstrong. Try cleaning the throttle body, check the idle position switch, and try removing and cleaning the idle control motor. I've had idle improvement by carefully setting the throttle position and linkage. Use feeler guages to be precise. Also check the accordian air tube between the AMM and the throttle body to see if any air leaks have developed. I'm still trying to imagine how setting the timing could have caused this but no answers yet.
