DOT 4 a substitute for DOT 3 brake fluid?

Yes, I followed the correct bleed sequence. That's why I am so annoyed with this outcome. Manual does not call for energizing anything.

Then again, it is a Haynes manual. I wonder if there "left front" caliper is the same side of the car as I think of it (driver's side). It wasn't for the cabin air filter change regarding the cowl trim. Found myself working on the wrong side of the car.

(after doing Volvos, you get used to this sequence sort of thing, what?)
