Flame trap fun! 200

Forgot what year your brick is. The 1988 240 wifemobile has the taller breather box and high-mounted flame trap. Before that year, the short breather box made for a PITA when doing the PCV service.

Replacing the breather box is a lot easier if you combine the job with a throttle body cleaning. Good access with the throttle body and air hose and other hoses out of the way.

However, since you seem to be a square one, you might be able to convert.

The taller breather box will bolt on to the same spot. Parts above the box are not the same, and will need to be new. The only hang-up I can imagine is that the high mount location is above the space between intake manifold rails #3 and #4, and there is a tube that must go up through that space.

BUT that's where the main wiring harness is already located. Have a look, It would be the last time a PCV service would be a PITA. My 1988 flame trap service takes 15 min, including washing up.

Good Luck,

Bob
