My AC is not blowing as cold as I want

I have a retro AC on my 760 replaced about 5 years ago. It works, but not as well as I want it to. It takes a long time to get cool and when it does it does not cool as much as I would like it to. I should not complain because it works. Do you think ti just needs service i.e a shot of freon, how often should that be done? I bet I am overdue.
