Start up problems 200 1988

It almost always runs fine, so I would go for the fuel pump relay or fuse contact as someone described. On my 760 all the relays had broken solder, and my '88 240 had only one relay without broken solder. Distance traveled has very little effect, it is due to the age of the solder. And now we are switching to lead free solder, so who knows what problems will occur in 10 years time.

If you have K-Jetronics, look at the relays and then replace the ignition module, if it was not the relays. (My 1988 is still K-Jet.)

With newer electronic FI, it might also be the FI computer, but it's expensive to replace. First check the connector.
