Most odometer failures (electronic speedos, 86-93) are caused by a tiny plastic gear that looses teeth. It is just under the electric motor on the side of the odometer. Available from Jeff Kaplan at a modest cost. Simple 20 minute repair when you have the cluster removal routine down. If it is not the gear, then there is a small chip on the board by the gear FM or UAF 2115 that is the culprit. This one might be harder to find a source for? These are in junkyards though. Other than those two components and the wires to the motor glued to teh circuit board not much else goes wrong. Your speedometer is not going to fail just because the odometer does.
