Resolder your fuel pump relay and the radio suppression relay.

Both killed my '91 740. First it was the fpr, and about 2 weeks later it was the rsr.

This respair costs $0, takes 15 minutes, no risk, clean 'n easy work. If it helps nothing, you're out nothing. (Resolder your OD relay, too.)

It could be an intermittent crank sensor, which controls the spark. In these cars, no spark equals no fuel.
