Zee, that's a good tip about Lexan. But I am not sure that it's all that expensive.

Go to SHEET size. (It cuts readily with a handsaw, or power saw.)

A few years ago I bought a 4' x 8' sheet of 3/8" Lexan for $320, if I remember right. Close enough.

Scratch-resistant Lexan, however, was quoted at 3-4 times as muuch! :-(
