intake manifold removal

You've looked carefully with a very good light, right?
As I remember, my son's '87 turbo had 8 intake manifold bolts. Some manifolds also have bolts on the underside, visible only while lying on your back under the car. Fun.

Intake manifolds rarely are difficult to dislodge when all bolts are removed. For all those I've removed, a couple of whacks with the heel of my hand were enough to dislodge the manifold.
