Hmm, On my '93 940 the idle never goes up when A/C is ON, although it's set at 750 (and varying about as it's not really steady, a different problem it must be). As in case of original poster, it only seems to stumble for a split second when A/C turns on and that's all - no increase.
Is there a particular wire going from the A/C (clutch?) to the ECU to tell it to increase RPM that I should check? Where is it going from, then, and what pin on the ECU connector does it go to? My car has Rex/Regina (coil+power stage combo, only a single main in-tank pump).
Does it mean my IAC valve is dead? It doesn't seem to be really dead, it does compensate when I obstruct flow through the small air hose and the ECU-administered self test seems to open and close it correctly.
Does A/C really increase idle to 1000 on all models? Can anyone with a (hopefully '93 940) confirm?
Cheers, Kuba
