swapping the trim 200 1976

The good news is that if you get a fender with a different trim style, the clips that attach it are compatible, just mix and match for the style you want.

I got a new fender from a later year with the black and chrome trim (mine had the '77 narrow chrome strip) I went to the pick and pull yard and found the guard I wanted, then went to some different coloured volvos with the trim I wanted and pryed it off.

When I swapped the trim on the guard I was actually going to use, I wrapped a screwdriver in a towel so as not to damage the paint, then levered it very carefully along under the stip, popping one lug at a time. The only problem is that the car I pulled the guard off did not have trim around the park light, and I will need to drill 3 holes to put the lugs though, and I also need to drill holes to mount the badge on the side.

Its worth the effort to have a car that isn't crumpled.
