r12 to 134 different approach

Thank for the input, it gives me more confidence. I just converted my daughters '87 740 today. I took a mid road approach and installed the volvo kits and took it to my mechanic to have it evacuated and charged with 134a. I did not replace all the other O-rings or flush the system. The install went very smooth if anyone else is hesitant. I should have used this as an excuse to buy some larger combination wrenches but I got by with a pair of adjuatable wrenches just fine.

Only have about 1/2 hour experience, but I woud say it is OK. The temperature in the shop was 90+ and the center vent temperature was about 50 at idle and the car was still heat soaked. Probably not as cold as R12, but much better than no AC. The mechanic did discover that the auxillary fan is shot, but unfortunately, I don't have time to worry about that now. She'll have to keep an eye on the temp if caught in traffic. (Something that should be done anyway.)
